Burdekin Falls Dam Raising Project

Building Queensland is leading the development of the Burdekin Falls Dam Raising Project Detailed Business Case in partnership with Sunwater. The business case is investigating long-term water supply requirements and options for raising the Burdekin Falls Dam wall.

Building Queensland is also working with Sunwater to develop the detailed business case for the Burdekin Falls Dam Improvement Project. Coordination between the projects in underway to ensure optimal long-term outcomes are achieved for the dam. These projects are interdependent as the design for the dam improvement will account for the future raising of the dam and dam improvement construction must be completed before raising construction commences.

An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required for the Burdekin Falls Dam Raising Project. The detailed business case will incorporate the outcomes of the EIS.
