Cairns Shipping Development

Building Queensland is leading the development of the Cairns Shipping Development Detailed Business Case in partnership with Ports North.

The detailed business case is investigating the widening and deepening of the Trinity Inlet navigation channel and cruise ship swing basin to allow access for larger cruise ships. It is also investigating an upgrade of the wharf infrastructure in Trinity Inlet and the relocation of the cargo swing basin to cater for the larger vessels.

Building Queensland expects to complete the detailed business case in Q2 2018, before presenting it to the Queensland Government for consideration.
