With the opening of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) in April 2017, health care delivery will change across the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) region. Some of the services currently provided by Nambour Hospital will be relocated to SCUH and its role in the SCHHS network will change to a sub-acute facility. Accordingly, some refurbishment and reorganisation is likely to be required to ensure that Nambour Hospital performs its required functions and operates efficiently.

The proposal is investigating options to reconfigure Nambour Hospital and refurbish the facility in line with the hospital’s new role. The project is expected to optimise operational and clinical efficiencies.
